Honey Chicken is a sweet and tangy preparation of chicken which can be served best as a smashing mouth-watering starter. As the name reveals, here the chicken is cooked with loads of honey along with tangy lime juice. Roasted sesame seed adds an extra dimension to the dish. If you are ready for a different taste of chicken, then go for it.
Ingredients to serve 2 :
- Boneless chicken – 200 gm. (cut into small cubes)
- Honey – 3 tbspoon
- Lime juice – 2 tbspoon
- Ginger juice – 2 teaspoon
- Ginger (cut into julians ) – ½ inch
- Cornflour – 2 tbspoon + 1 teaspoon
- Roasted sesame seeds – 2 teaspoon
- Dry red chilli – 1-2
- Salt to taste
- Cooking oil for deep frying the chicken + 1 tbspoon
Marinate the chicken with salt, 1 tbspoon lime juice, ginger juice and 2 tbspoon of cornflour for at least half an hour. Then deep fry the chicken till light brown in colour.
Now heat 1 tbspoon of oil in a wok or kadai over medium flame.
Add ginger and dry red chilli, saute for a while.
Add fried chicken, honey, remaining lime juice and salt. Mix them well and cook for a while.
Mix 1 teaspoon of cornflour with 2 tbspoon of water and add in the mixture to the chicken. Stir well and cook for 1 minute.
